Turtlenecked - “Mary”

Turtlenecked is Portland native Harrison Smith, who has been writing, producing and playing most every instrument on his records since 2015. After moving to New York, he’s continued recording and just released his newest single, titled “Mary.” This track perfectly cultivates the post-grunge polish featuring the screaming guitar and leveled-out, harmonious vocals. Whimsically narrative lyrics add the perfect touch.

Black Belt Eagle Scout - “My Blood Runs Through This Land”

Black Belt Eagle Scout is Portland artist Katherine Paul, also formerly the drummer in the band Genders. Paul was raised on the Swinomish Indian reservation in Washington, which she credits with heavily influencing her music. In her new single “My Blood Runs Through This Land,” she’s gifted us with a darkly rhythmic song exuding spirituality and consciousness with a traditional Pacific Northwest rock sensitivity. Paul’s song is part of benefit compilation for the Estok’Gna (or Carrizo Comecrudo) Indigenous people of Texas. She also recently lent her time and talent in support of the Together4Oregon fundraising campaign with an acoustic performance of her song “Indians Never Die."

MICHELLE - “Sunrise” feat. Arlo Parks

MICHELLE is a New York based R&B/soul-infused collective who have collaborated with bedroom pop sensation Arlo Parks to recreate their single “Sunrise.” This version is dripping with sensuality, for which MICHELLE gives a healthy level of credit to Parks, saying, “What a pleasure it is to hear new voices reimagine a tune we’ve held so close. Her soothing voice and stunning lyricism is everything we could’ve asked for.”
