Studio Sessions
Just after releasing the long-completed, long-awaited Lupon, Portland's Y La Bamba joined us for a batch of unrecorded songs, in the process revealing an emerging new vibe in their music and giving a taste of what the next album might sound like. Speaking of new material and the next album, the band recently launched a Kickstarter campaign with an eye toward the goal-- from the sounds of things, it's a worthy one.
This month you'll have multiple opportunities to hear the group live, in the McMenamins Great Northwest Music Tour, a series of free shows around the Northwest, most open to all ages. Y La Bamba plays the tour from February 16-26, with stops including the Kennedy School, Edgefield, in Bend, McMinnville and Forest Grove. See the schedule here.
