North Carolina-based sextet Annuals in-studio, 6-9-08.

Annuals' sound (on 2006 full-length, Be He Me, and recent Wet Zoo EP) is marked by swirling textures and layers of instrumentation, but the band played a stripped-down set of songs at Mississippi Studios, pared to one drum set, and making use of an upright piano at the studio. The group talked about how they create songs in the studio, and being a band that's performed more or less together since members were in their mid-teens.
