<p>Probably best known for his current gig as <a href="http://www.decemberists.com">Decemberists</a> drummer, John Moen's musical vita reads like a who's who of indie music over the past fifteen years or so. After co-founding the <a href="http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:b95s8q9tbtq4~T1">Dharma Bums</a> in 1987, he went on to play with the likes of <a href="http://www.sweetadeline.net">Elliott Smith</a>, <a href="http://www.trouserpress.com/entry.php?a=heatmiser&tr=y">Heatmiser</a>, and <a href="http://www.stephenmalkmus.com">Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks</a>, among others, in addition to fronting <a href="http://www.inmusicwetrustrecords.com/themaroons.html">The Maroons</a> in the early part of this decade. His new project, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/perhapst">Perhapst</a>, has been a while coming with roots stretching back to 2003. While it's a solo project for the most part, Moen got a little help along the way from former Dharma Bum cohort Eric Lovre, as well as Malkmus and fellow Jick Joanna Bolme. Perhpast's live line-up, as we had them for our session, is rounded out by Lovre, Chris Funk (Decemberists) and Jonathan Drews (Sunset Valley).</p>
