Chris Smither in-studio, 2-2-08. Smither played two shows in Oregon recently -- in Hillsboro and Eugene -- and stopped by our Corvallis studios on the way in between. His latest CD, Leave the Light On, shows his mature songwriting craft and warm delivery, and a more reflective approach than some of his earlier folk/blues recordings. In our session, he played two songs from Leave the Light On, and a long-time favorite of ours -- "No Love Today" -- which draws on the sing-song callout of the fruit and vegetable peddlers who used to work the streets of his native New Orleans.
