Perhaps best known as the singing-songwriting duo from the film Once, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova are the real life Swell Season. They joined us in front of a live audience recently on the heels of their second full-length release, Strict Joy, and talked about the effects that the changing nature of their relationship (from plutonic to romantic and back again) has had on their music, and how that relates to the idea of the album's title. We also got their take on the surprise whirlwind success of Once, the music for which won them an Academy Award in 2008.
