<p><a href="http://www.deertickmusic.com">Deer Tick</a> in-studio, 9-18-09.</p>
<p>Our session with Deer Tick was recorded right between a series of shows for the McMenamins <a href="http://www.mcmenamins.com/index.php?loc=108&id=825">Great NW Music Tour</a>, and <a href="http://www.musicfestnw.com/">Music Fest NW</a>. Nursing a sore throat from the previous night's show, frontman John McCauley III played guitar and harmonica on the first 3 songs, while Ian O'Neill and Andrew Tobiasson sang lead -- including a cover of Chuck Berry's "Maybelline." Then McCauley sang the final song, "Smith Hill," one of our favorites from the band's impressive summer release <em>Born on Flag Day</em>.</p>
