Blues/rock artist Gary Clark, Jr. plays Portland's Roseland Theater Friday night (October 4th). Clark's debut record, Blak and Blu, was released earlier this year, and songs like "Travis County" have been fixtures on opbmusic's playlist ever since. While he's most often recognized as a blues guitarist, Clark's vocals lend themselves to many different styles; "Travis County" sounds more like a modern Jerry Lee Lewis than B.B. King. In his hometown Austin, Texas, he won 8 Austin Music Award categories in 2012-13 including Musician of the Year.
