Ever wake in the night to the realization that thing you've been missing for a while now is the voice of Richard Buckner? Yeah, me too. It's been five long years since we saw anything new emerge from the gravelly-voiced singer-songwriter, all the more striking since he spent the first half of the 21st century's opening decade on something of a prolific hot streak (producing quality and quantity). So what gives? Seems he has some good reasons.
But now comes word of a new Buckner release-- Our Blood will be his ninth overall but first since 2006's Meadow. Surprisingly, it's also his first to be released on vinyl. Granted, we've got a ways to go until its August 2nd release date on Merge, but here's an early first taste. Because we've earned it.
