Davy Jones, one of the founding members of The Monkees (the only one amongst them signed to a recording deal before auditioning, in fact) and voice behind such hits as "Daydream Believer" and "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone" died this morning at his home in Florida following a heart attack. He was 66. Jones had perfromed as recently as last week, and just year reunited with fellow Monkees Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz for a European reunion tour to celebrate the band's 45th anniversary.
