We're giving away tickets to select films in the the 30th annual Reel Music Film Festival, which begins Friday night. In all, the festival presents 36 films on everything from biopics of jazz musicians to full-length rock concert docs to explorations into some of history's most bizarre musical happenings. This lineup promises something for people of all interests and musical tastes. This year, we're proud to sponsor five of the festival's upcoming films. Here are two you might be interested in for this weekend-- enter to win a pair of tickets below!
Something From Nothing is a tour-de-force documentary that takes us beyond the nitty-gritty and the glamour of the hip hop industry into the hearts and psyches of performers, producers and artists. Check out our featured (p)review of this film! Showing Friday, October 12th at 9:15.
Under African Skies travels with the illustrious Paul Simon on his return journey to South Africa, where he had originally recorded his masterpiece album, Graceland. Showing Saturday, October 13th at 6:30 p.m.
Both films will be screened at Portland's Whitsell Auditorium, 1219 SW Park Ave.
We're giving away tickets to each of these films. Here's how to enter to win: send us an e-mail at opbmusic@opb.org, with the name of the film that you want to see in the subject, your full name in the body of the email, and get it to us by 3pm tomorrow (Thursday Oct 11th). Winners will be notified by email.
