If the spring of 2012 exists in your memory as a particularly glowing, light-footed age, you may very well have had Pure Bathing Culture's debut EP in heavy rotation. The duo made up of Sarah Vesprille and Dan Hindman (often joined by Zach Tillman on bass in live settings) released the self-titled EP in March of last year, and word quickly spread of the beautiful sounds being made by the Portland transplants who also happen to be members of Vetiver. We were most certainly smitten when they joined us for a session last June.
And now today-- a Monday-- brings good news and aural treats in the form of PBC's announcement of their full-length debut coming August 20th on Partisan. Moon Tides is the title and from the sounds of things is yet more shimmering, summery sounds from the duo and more magic from Richard Swift's Cottage Grove studio. Have a listen (and a download) below.
Catch Pure Bathing Culture in action soon! They open for Father John Misty at the Wonder Ballroom May 25th.
