It's a still-young year yet, but perhaps the song of the year thus far is tUnE-yArDs' "Bizness". The Afro-Pop-inspired number from Merrill Garbus' Oakland-based act has a wonder and freshness about it that doesn't seem to come around often. Add to that Garbus' Nina Simone impression on the vocal throughout and you've got a powerhouse track. Director Mimi Cave now gives it a visual component to match, with all of the elements you might expect-- color, movement, youth-- on display.

The song comes from w h o k i l l, the second album from tUnE-yArDs, out April 19th on 4AD. The band plays the Doug Fir (with White Hinterland and Buke & Gass) on April 28th.
