Mike Coykendall has released the video for his new track "Hippie Girl." The producer/singer-songerwriter seems to have mastered the lo-fi sound and has worked with indie staples like Bright Eyes, M Ward and Blitzen Trapper. The track features Eric Earley, Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard (apparently they can still work together!). The song is breezy and the scenery is pleasant. It's a nice addition to one's end of summer soundtrack (complete with slide guitar).

"Hippie Girl" is the first single from his upcoming release Chasing Away the Dots, which is due out September 18. There's an album release party at Doug Fir Saturday September 15 and he'll be playing a number of other dates around town this autumn.
