Probably best known to Portlanders as a singer-songwirter, Jaina's taken some interesting creative side roads in the three years since his previous record, A Bird in the Opera House. He's written three ballets, worked on a film soundtrack and composed music for a play in New Orleans. Along the way, he somehow also found time to release a record of female vocalists singing his songs, The Beanstalks That Have Brought Us Here Are Gone, write a few columns, and play the occasional house show or road date (one of which was at a prison called Folsom).
