It's that time of year again as PDX Pop Now! throws what's become an annual benefit bash at The Cleaners at The Ace Hotel: Make It Pop! Full disclosure, we're proud to be the year-round media sponsor of PDX Pop Now!, but we'd be excited about and talking this one up regardless.

Portland's favorite singing and songwriting Lauras-- Laura Veirs and Laura Gibson-- will be joined by the frontmen of two bands you probably know in Blitzen Trapper's Eric Earley and Blind Pilot's Israel Nebeker. Needless to say, that's quite a lineup and aside from the fact that some of those names will be delivering rare solo acoustic performances, we might also expect new material from Gibson and Nebeker, who have new releases either completed or in the process of being that way.

What, all of that plus the righteous cause that is PDX Pop Now isn't enough for you? Well, then, there'll also be complimentary appetizers from Beast, desserts from Bakery Bar and Fifty Licks Ice Cream, and libations courtesy of Captured By Porches and Anne Amie Winery. Oh, and I'll be there, too, playing hot jams (i.e. the complete works of Seals & Crofts) between sets while trying to convince Veirs and Gibson to form a Lauras supergroup with Laura Cantrell (do it, it's a can't miss!).
