The Deschutes River Recordings series concludes with the third recording featuring one of Portland's finest. In this case, it's Laura Gibson and friends (including, among others, Dave Depper, Julie Vitells, Jason Leonard and Cory Gray) with a rather stunning turn on the traditional "Down By the Riverside." Indeed, it's the perfect compliment to the Deschutes River area's natural and majestic backdrop. We're happy to bring you this local premiere...

Gibson's contribution follows those previously released featuring Fruit Bats' Eric D. Johnson and Blitzen Trapper's Eric Earley. To refresh, "Songs for the River, By the River" is the gist of the audio-video series from Bend's Deschutes Brewery, which whisks away some of Portland's finest musicians to the banks of Central Oregon's Deschutes River to perform takes on classic river songs, all to benefit the Deschutes River Conservancy.

Stream Gibson's "Down By the Riverside" below-- or better yet, buy your own copy and benefit to the cause here.
