Generationals Offer Free Digital EP

Indie-pop southerners Generationals are switching it up with the release of their new EP, Medium Rarites, offering a free digital download of four tracks via Park the Van records. The EP comes just in time for their upcoming tour, which begins September 9th (sans a Portland date, unfortunately). The EP contains a little taste of what's new along with a few refurbished versions of some of their earlier tunes.

Two of the featured tracks are remixes of songs from their previous albums-- single "Trust" from this year's Actor-Caster is a scuzzy dub remix by Bent Black; earlier track "When They Fight, They Fight", from debut album Con Law is remixed by Richard Swift, who emphasizes the track's 80's pop flavor. "Green Leaf Black Heart" is a new, janglier, brighter version of a previous song, "Greenleaf" which was debuted on Actor-Caster, adding a bit of danceablility to create the "summer jam" that we were hoping for.

The EP's previously unreleased title, "You Got Me", is a reserved track which lays a simple, melancholy verse over cryptic samples of a man describing the night sky. For a free download of the complete EP, you can enter your email into the widget on the site, or check out the stream below:
