Saturday, July 12 There's a Kind of HUSH...

In case you don't already know, opbmusic is sponsoring tonight's HUSH Records 10th Anniversary Showcase at the Aladdin Theater, and the honor and excitement we feel at being involved with such an event (and such a bil!) is matched only by the shortness of our time at the moment. Check back later, then, for a full rundown of tonight's goings-on, including (hopefully) some photographic evidence. Of course, you could always just go and see it for yourself, which would be our recommendation. In the meantime, stream our sessions with all three of tonight's artists...

*Oh, and a late update: late arrivers can rejoice, the show doesn't begin until 9:00, despite what the poster says....

Thanks for playing Yacht & THe Foals - one of the better bands around, enjoyed the hour until your neo-soul relapse, the dance rhythm on this track is fine but the sickly mush lyric is beyond the pale, but even then better than the prior G Love song which was infantile.

Stereolab/Loch Lomond coming up - promises to be good.
What shows have you been able to get to lately?

Well, it can't be all un-infantile, can it? I mean, I gotta throw in a few flavors.

The Loch Lomond track is one they did for us during the in-studio session earlier this year (just heard them play it a bit ago at the Hush show tonight, too). Rather stunning, as usual, don't you think?

I don't get to near the number of shows it might be assumed I would. Caught the Old Believers CD release this week (photos here) and the Hush Showcase tonight (through the magic of radio, I've been live on the air and sent a pre-made version of myself to the show). Very muvh looking forward to the Fleet Foxes show on the 25th at the Doug Fir, and to the PDX Pop Now! festivities.

You?

I recommend this 3rd hour to everyone - my highest ratings, several 4s... & 5s even! Nick Jaina gets a two only because he doesn't have the voice to carry his great work. Not a single dud, just a few flat ones from the big names.
