Elvis Costello Duets With Elmo

As an entity that both originates in public media and is supremely interested in the goings-on of the masters of pop music, we're more or less required to point this one out.

Elvis Costello (aka the only musician who has earned the right to be known simply as "Elvis") took to Sesame Street recently, teaming up with the muppet known simply as "Elmo" for a rendition of his classic "(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes." Costello is the father of four year-old twins with jazz singer Diana Krall, which may have something to do with this arrangement (because it's one thing to see your dad chatting up Bono on his own TV show and entirely another to see him singing with Elmo on the show you watch everyday on purpose). The more age-appropriate version of the song in this case becomes "(The Monster Went and Ate My) Red 2," like many an object before it, the red #2 ending up in the gut of Cookie Monster.

And, hey Elvis: come to Portland, Oregon already, will ya?!
