In House returns for its second pair of shows this weekend with two stella
r in-studio sessions, each with a local connection. Saturday night features an entire full band set from Portland's own Shaky Hands, recently named the area's Best New Band 2007 by the Willamette Week. The quintet plays songs from their self-titled debut, out earlier in the year, while also previewing material due to appear on their next full-length. Sunday night it's a visit with New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Gill Landry. His own 2007 debut, the excellent The Ballad of Lawless Soirez was recorded last year in Portland with producer Nick Jaina, and also bares the mark of several PDX musicians in the mix. While the effort is technically a debut, Landry is a veteran of Americana variations, including busking in the streets of the Big Easy, and spells with the Kitchen Syncopators and the Old Crow Medicine Show.

Congrats Jeremy, it’s great to see you're moving onward and upward. But I'm bummed you're gone. I relied on hearing your show here in Idaho. Your show influenced my music buying more than any other show; All Songs Considered being the only other influence on my purchasing habits. All Songs Considered has a podcast of their show, a must-hear for me, but it's broad and doesn't cover the same ground that you cover on your show. Without a podcast, I'm doomed, and others like me in Idaho and other rural places will be left deserted. Put me down as another podcast requestor. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.

C. Hart, thanks. We are planning to make the show available on demand, so you'll be able to stream it whenever you want. There are a few back-end details that have to be worked out, but it's coming. In the meantime, I hope you can catch some of the show in real time despite the time difference. -DC
